Christmas Party Table

Christmas Party Table

Looking for a few Christmas party table decoration ideas?  This past weekend, we hosted a Christmas party at our home.  Normally, we have it catered.  I decided to make all the food myself.  This might seem like a crazy decision, since this is the busiest time of the year for me, as my cosmetic bags are packed and shipped in time for holiday gift giving.  I love to cook and the satisfaction knowing that I am serving fresh and healthy foods (well as healthy as cookies and desserts can get).

Christmas Party Table Tips

One of my favorite parts of the  party planning is creating a beautiful table. Here are a couple of my tips on how to create a festive buffet party table.

Decide on the color scheme and select a solid color tablecloth that fits the theme.

Create height around the table by using serving pieces and containers in varies heights.  You can also do this by placing a couple of boxes around the table and covering with a second fabric.  I like using shiny and glittery fabric.  On my table this year, I used a green velour remnant fabric that I picked up for just a few dollars.

To create consistency between the serving pieces I like to add bows and appliques. This year, I added glittery snowflake appliques to several of my glass containers. These are inexpensive and can be re-used over and over again.

Present your foods in non-traditional ways.  On my table, I used a footed truffle bowl to serve vegetables and a vase to serve cheese cubes.  This is a good time to display vases, baskets and bowls that you don’t use often.

Strategically place candles around the table (away from reaching hands) and a flower arrangement and your table will become the perfect backdrop for serving your delicious treats.  Your  guests will appreciate the care you took to make it all so beautiful!  After all it is all about living life beautifully!
